VFX studio Industrial Light & Magic, also known as just ILM, is featured in the upcoming documentary series Light & Magic, which is about the magic of films, according to a trailer released by Disney. This series takes us back in time as the people at Industrial Light and Magic, the special effects branch of Lucasfilm, build the effects for some of the largest and most popular movies of the previous 45 years. ILM is a studio that is well-known to everyone who has ever worked in the film industry; it was founded during the Star Wars era when George Lucas needed a large workforce to aid with the effects for the original trilogy.
ILM has continued to hold the top spot as the greatest VFX studio in Hollywood history, only rivaled by Weta. Six episodes of this series, featuring music by James Newton Howard, will be available for streaming on Disney+ by the end of July. ILM is the finest of the best, and I have been a fan for as long as I can remember. I’m eager to watch this to get a behind-the-scenes look.

The legendary filmmaker and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan is the creator of the documentary series Light & Magic. Kasdan wrote the screenplays for The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Return of the Jedi. Marc Gilbar, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Lawrence Kasdan, Meredith Kaulfers, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, and Justin Wilkes served as the documentary’s executive producers.
Beginning on July 27, 2022, Disney+ will begin steaming the Light & Magic documentary series.
